Hi there, I’m Kat!

I’m currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Journalism at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, where I focus on reporting stories that connect local readers to issues and events shaping Dane County. Before beginning my graduate studies, I earned a B.A. in Writing Intensive English with a minor in Advertising from Marquette University.

My work centers on community-driven reporting, with a particular focus on social issues, education, nonprofit work and public policy. I’m especially drawn to stories that highlight how individuals and organizations make a meaningful difference in their communities.

When I’m not working, you can probably find me reading fiction or exploring independent bookstores. I also enjoy creative writing, drawing, and finding new way to explore my creativity.
